What is TroGlitter?
TroGlitter is a cast engravable acrylic mixed with glitter particles. All 6 TroGlitter colours are easy to laser process, including cutting and engraving. In contrast to normal laser acrylics, laser cutting TroGlitter will produce a finish which is more matt than gloss. This is due to the glitter particles in the material.
As part of the TroGlass series of engravable acrylics, TroGlitter's base material is cast acrylic, making processing very similar to other TroGlass products.
When processing TroGlitter, the laser parameters for TroGlass can be used for the base values when determining optimal parameters. You may find that you need to increase the power or reduce the speed slightly to cut the material.
When laser engraving with a CO2 laser, we recommend a resolution of 500 dpi. Since TroGlitter is not transparent, the material is engraved on the front. The protective foil should be removed from the top prior to engraving the material.
To achieve a strong contrast with the engraving, turn on the Air Assist. Rapid cooling makes the material appear more matt and whiter once processed.
For the cutting frequency, we recommend a range between 5,000 and 20,000 Hz.
The right exhaust system is also very important when processing this material. The better the fresh smoke is extracted, the higher the finished quality of the cut, leading to reduced cleaning requirements.
Use an acrylic cutting table or acrylic lamellae for a good cut quality when processing this material.
